New help is available to those looking for finance for their business or business idea. Local enterprise agency Harrow in Business is offering money-hungry businesses a ‘makeover’ with finance professionals so they can be taken more seriously by banks and investors.

The Access to Finance programme gives an initial review to establish the business position and potential of each applicant. Then an action plan is agreed and the business is married up with the specialist consultant best suited to help it transform that business into an attractive investment.

Help might include

• advice on what type of funding to go for
• help with writing the required business or financial plan for any financial pitch
• coaching you on presenting a professional case to funders
• reviewing your business model
• assessing your skills and management development
• The scheme offers help to anyone wanting to start a business or for existing businesses. Access to Finance pays for up to 80% of the cost of these professional consultations, thus ensuring that businesses can get top quality advice at a fraction of the true cost.

The Access to Finance programme, supported by the London Development Agency, has helped entrepreneurs and businesses in the UK raise over £30.7 million since it was introduced.
